Spring in Balance
When light, blossoms and movement find perfect balance in nature

Artist Statement
This photography series is the result of an intensely prepared collaboration between nature, light and human expression. What looks like a dreamy, spontaneous instant is in fact the culmination of days of planning, preparation and precise timing.
Together with aerial artist Lieselotte Hansoul — who also supplied the hoop — I searched for the perfect blossom orchard. We reached out to Karel Vaes of Fruit met hart en ziel (@fruitmethartenziel) in Borgloon — a name that could not be more fitting. Karel personally guided me through his orchards and helped look for the ideal location.
I needed a row of medium-stem trees, knowing their blossoms would sit at precisely the right height for the image I envisioned. At the same time, the horizon had to remain clear so that, during golden hour, the sun could shine through the very centre of the aerial ring. Using an app that simulates the sun’s path, I calculated on-site the exact moment this alignment would occur. The window in which everything was perfect lasted barely fifteen minutes.
These frames capture Lieselotte Hansoul (@skyflowdancer) of @aerial_art.be suspended between earth and sky, encircled by light and blossom. Powerful, elegant and fleeting — just like the blossoms themselves. Every element was deliberately constructed: the location, the timing, the pose, the light.
This is the magic that can emerge when humanity and nature fall into balance — even if only for a heartbeat.
